We are a new-ish Women’s Institute, established in 2009. We’re definitely not traditional, but we do embrace the ethos of the WI.
The Women’s Institute plays a unique role in providing women with educational opportunities and the chance to build new skills, to take part in a wide variety of activities and to campaign on issues that matter to them and their communities. The Disparate Housewives WI wants its members to feel that they belong to something special. We want them to make new friends, work as a team and generally have fun.
Women of all ages can join. They do not have to be housewives! In fact our membership is so diverse, that we have women in their thirties through to women in their sixties. We do have housewives, but we also have busy mums and career women too. What do we have in common? The desire to learn new things in a fun environment!
We aim to provide meetings and social activities to meet the needs of our members. Our only restrictions are our imaginations and our budget.
